Wendy Kempsell Jacinto, PhD.
received her doctorate in Sociolinguistics from the University of
Washington (UW) in 2015. Her dissertation concentrated on bilingualism
and language attitudes towards code-mixing in the community of
Turkish-German speakers in Germany. As a graduate student, her
work included teaching classes in Sociolinguistics and Spanish as a
second language, a research assistantship documenting language
enrollment trends across UW, and 3 years on a Foreign Language and Area
Studies fellowship to study Turkish. Wendy joined HRA in 2015 as a
Translation Project Coordinator.
